98 chevy cavalier

i went and put gas in my car drove about 20 mins and i started to smell gas really bad all of a sudden my car turned off, havent been able to get it started since. what could the problem be?

What was the fuel level when you put gas in? If above a quarter, then this should not be related to putting fuel in the car , unless it is bad fuel(give the station you got the gas from a call).....

If you smell fuel, is it from the engine compartment or under neath the car or at the tank?

Which engine?

Check for codes?

Check for spark, fuel pressure, and injector pulse?
