The problem I'm having is that when I start my car, it'll run fine for acouple seconds, and then die like it's feinding for gas. This started happening out-of-the-blue one day and I figured maybe my gas gage was broken. So I filled up my tank and it started just perfect so I started to drive home and right when I was about a block away, it started fiending for gas, again. And ever since then it won't even stay running for more than 2 minutes. I bought a brand new fuel filter, thinking that was the problem - nope! I'm thinking it could either be that my car needs a tune-up(because it's not getting a good enough spark) OR I might need a new fuel pump or something - I'm not sure and I really don't wanna have to pay $70-90 dollars just to get my car diagnosed. If you have any suggestions PLEASE reply to this thread. I'd appreciate it ALOT. Thanks in advance.

Hi, get a old sparkplug and open the gap to 2mm and clamp it to the motor somehow so that the base of the sparkplug is earthed to the motor and put one of your plug lead on it,don't take your plug out, the motor will still run and watch the spark and when it stops has it got spark if not the most common fault is the igniter in the dist. If it has spark when it stops-must be fuel. Should be EFI, run it till it stops and then loosen the line out of the fuel filter and see if fuel spray's out and wind motor over and see if the fuel still spray's out should have about 45psi in the line so a dribble is no good if not good enough common fault is the pump. If it still has a carb just pull the line off to the carb and see if you still have fuel about 4-5psi. Good Luck
