Ford GT40 Mk.II

Good time of day.
Ford GT40 - a sports car, four-time winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans from 1966 to 1969. (Although in 1967 with another body). Its specifically designed for race wins in the long distance against Ferrari (who won at Le Mans six times in a row from 1960 to 1965). GT40 GT-40P 1075 was the first car that won Le Mans twice (1968 and 1969.), This car is the engine used Gurney Weslake from a special alloy. Car called GT (short for Gran Turismo) and added 40, which means its full height of 40 inches (1.02 meters at the windshield) as required by the rules. Ford V8 engines used in large volume (4.7 liters and 7 liters), compared with a Ferrari V12, the volume of 3.0 liters or 4.0 liters.
Early cars were simply called «Ford GT». «GT40» - the so-called Project for the preparation of cars for international endurance race, and Ford really wanted to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The first 12 "prototype" had serial numbers GT-101 through GT-112.
It began, "production" and the subsequent cars, MkI, MkII, MkIII and MkV, numbered from the GT40-P-1000 and GT40-P-1145, and has officially been «GT40». Project Name Ford and the serial numbers dispel rumors that «GT40» was supposedly "only a nickname."
The model was going to very difficult. Poor interoperability, blockages in the body, killed glazing. Of the benefits - the presence of bullying. Most of all hardship with ventilated seats - had to make 260 holes and rings.

Re: Ford GT40 Mk.II

Very nice. Those seats looked great when they made the car but a lot of work for the modeller.

Beautifully done Zhukov. What kit is this and where did you get the Firestone decals? Can you show us the engine or is it curbside?

Re: Ford GT40 Mk.II

manufacturer Fujimi.
30% had a body putty - traces of seams and sink marks + the lower edge of the stern of the marriage. Running "izkorobochno" drives only has brought to mind, grind up the width of the tire. The engine is not there, and aftemarket / engine /, there is a modification to the other, at a cost equal to the model. Bullying comes in the kit, but I took him back only bars and cables on the hood, belt buckles to take on another set. The air intake cut, put the net. Replaced by a janitor in the etching. All who gathered this model, complained about the deck - they fall apart, I've cracked it, like something stuck

Excellent job on a tough kit. The body reshaping is beautiful.
