1/25 Mercury Capri Turbo RS

Hey guys as you know i am currently working on the Pantera GTS but my next build has arrived in the mail today so I'm eager to let you know the next build.

Its another vintage and rare kit, made from Revell, it dates back to 1979 and it is entirely complete. My father had an 1982 Mercury Capri so I'm going to try to model this one as close to my fathers as possible.

My fathers 1982 Mercury Capri

FINISHED PRODUCT

The first picture below kind of mocks the Capri White Lightning Advertisement haha

BEGINNING OF BUILD

Heres some pictures!

Box

Scanned the instructions, they're well aged.

Revell Club subscription form and decals.

The body is in excellent condition, hard shiny plastic.

The tires are advertised as MADE WITH REAL RUBBER on the box! And they are very soft and definitely rubber.

Tinted windows! Very cool and convenient because my fathers Capri had tints as well.

Part trees were all intact.

Re: 1/25 Mercury Capri Turbo RS

Here are some updates to the Capri, painted and assembled a few things today.

Heres the motor, 2.3L fuel injected turbo charged, it was hard to find many pictures on the block and valve cover. The valve is definitely black/silver, and the block was painted Tamiya Gunmetal, the transmission was painted Testors Steel, the radiator fan was painted Testors Alluminum, I'm probably going to attached the spark plug wires too later once the engine is in the bay.

Note: valve cover does sit flat now lol

Heres the interior, my dads car was like a dark tan vinyl, I'm not too sure if the Capri Turbo came with this option choice but it does look very nice especially with the exterior colour I'm doing. Interior and dash was painted with Krylon Brown Boots spray paint.

Re: 1/25 Mercury Capri Turbo RS

Sorry I've took so long to update my progress everyone, I've been a little too busy lately to work on the Capri, but i have made some progress and have some new pics.

Here is the completed chassis with wheels.

The completed interior. Note* has been touched up.

The body has been painted Tamiya Metallic Brown, came out very close to the original. The pictures don't really do justice to the finish in person it looks like the my fathers colour, regardless it came out very nice.

I painted the trim about 10 minutes ago lol

Hopefully i will be done it by tonight, thanks for viewing
