2002 Audi A4 CVT gearbox problems

Hi

My A4 is shaking and shudering and they have just replaced the coils but its still doing it. They have told me new gearbox required and thats after only 55,000K!!!!!! I am a lady owner and dont thrash my car just drive it nice and quiet... Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Ofcourse its now out of warranty and is going to cost A$11,000 in parts alone.... HELP - wondered if anyone else had any thoughts...
