2002 windstar
I have a check engine light on. The code is P0315. Its the crankshaft sensor. My question is could the belt and Tensioner if bad cause this code to come up or is it really the sensor?

Most likely the sensor.
The crankshaft does not rely on the bent in order to turn.....and the sensor is reading from the crankshaft. You could check wiring to see if it is that.....but most likely the sensor.
