Fabricating a hood scoop

I just purchased an intake and k&n filter for my ride. I was thinking about cutting a hole in my hood to accomidate a hood scoop for better air intake. Has anyone done this before? Also where would I find a suitable scoop?

dont ruin your hood for something thats not gonna do much and will look like ass if you do it yourself, if you absolutely wanna do this i say goto a junkyard get a hood and try to do it really nice....but it'll probably look like ass whichever way you do it IMO

i was thinkin of doing the same thing. but like he said chances are its gonna be really hard to make it look decent. what i want to do now is get louvres (spelling?) like on a plane kinda like -----\\\\\\----- if you get what that means, right above the intake area. i think thatd loook dope, and provide some function.

i had that idea also at one point, doesnt seem hard, buy a scoop then mould it in and fasten the screws. we had one for a corrado that we were gonna put on before the motor decided to blow, looked pretty cool, i was gonna get a spare hood and toss it on to see what it would look like but i think my bro got ridda it

the hood on my car provides plenty of cooling for my engine, the temp gauge hardly ever goes over 1/4 up.

Re: Fabricating a hood scoop

You guys wanna see something cool you have to check out ebaymotors. There is a 88 crx on there that has a hood scoop that reminds me of a mustang hood scoop. I've been trying to get a hold of the guy cause I want one! It's sweet! The car itself rocks!
