Question Paint Job

How much does a good paint job cost? some say above 500 and others say above 1000, what about a 700 dollar paint job?

if you are going to paint it the same color then it will cost you around 700-1000 in some places but if you are going to paint it a different color they will charge you more.

it depends on what color you want it to be, some are more expensive then others, I want to paint my integra Baby Blue, which would be around 1000 where i'm from but it could vary, also dont get a paint job at a Franchise owned place like Macco, (200 dolllar ambassador paint job) because the car will come out shitty, I would say for 700 beans you could get a sweet paint job some can run ya up to 2000!!!!!

It all depends on what you want from it. If you want a show winning paint job, you will be spending upwards of $2000. If you want a paint job that will last like 4 years cause you don't plan on keeping the car long, then I am sure there are places that will do it for $500-$700. It usually depends on the paint and if you are going to paint it another color. You could change the color and leave the insides the original color, (it would save you anywhere from $100-$400 off a color change)but the only time I have seen that look good is when the engine bay was left all black.

Sorry for the long post

Thanks for all of this feedback guys! Yeah I got an estimate today, for $2500 and one of you guys were right. I'm thinking about keeping the car for only about another 4-5 years. It's a 94 integra ya know.. it's old.. so whats the point of trying to make it look BRAND NEW.. even though it's nice to do that, it's a crap load of money. I'm still looking around for a $700 dollar job though. And as for color, if I get it done in Pearl-white would that cost more? What's a good color for a girl's integra. I was gonna go baby pink, but I don't think I could stick with that for another 4 years.

Btw, would an aluminum shift knob suit an integra? My friend is getting me one and I don't know if itd look right.

You can alwayz get a White cheap paintjob ( not cheap as in Crappy , but low cost like you wanted ) Nice Pure White paint Job w/ Red Pearl added into it. yes pearl does cost extra, but if you get red w/that white, it should get you a pink glitter look in the light. Not exactly what you wanted, but it wont get on your nerves for 4 years being soo pink And you still get the pink effect from it. Hope this gives you some ideas.

My friend got a black car with a red clear coat and it turned out to be a sweet maroon color. I guess the word I could use would be "burnt rose" or "burnt candy apple". It was nice looking, maybe it would work with white and red?

Looks like "championship white". Also, look for shops that will allow you to buy the paint...if you know where and what to get. I am getting my car painted for 300 with pearl white(I supply the paint), and the paint will cost me about 150. Helps to know painters. Whatever you do, do not make a hasty decision on paint. Ask to see some cars that just got painted by the shop...if you end up paying $200-$300 for the shop being reputable, it will be well spent.

another way to save money is cherry out yer car b4 you paint it. ( sand it down, take out dents, the works ) some places will charge alot for little things like fixing dents and stuff. But only if you want them too. But im sure you dont want dents and scratches on yer ride when yer car gets painted. But if you dont have no probz w/yer exterior then yer all good !

hmm.. $700-800 sounds good for it. and.... yeah someone told me to sand it down and stuff.. i might actually do that. as for buying the paint. i don't know any painters : X

i'm going to look around tomorrow..

do you think people would notice if someone took 90-93 integra headlights and molded it into a 94? instead of spending a load on JDM headlights?... hmm.. oh well.. i just want the car painted first..
