97 5.7 timming off dis. gear worn out

I have a 97 chevy 5.7 the dis. gear was worn out replaced with new still timming is off changed the cam sensor seemed to make a dead spot in pedal i have a scancheck obd 2 reader can anyone give me an idea where to go next ?

Are you checking "cam offset/cam retard"? Needs to be 0 +/- 2 degs at or above 2000 rpm.

If the gear on the distributor wore out, was the gear on the camshaft checked to see if it was excessively worn?
