Power window Question....

Hey, this is for you guys who have done a power window conversion to your hatch/crx

I forgot that the Lx 4doors also had power windows like the Ex.

First question - Can I use the setup from the Lx, or is it different?

Also, I dont really feel like taking the entire wire harness, can anyone tell me what wiring I need from the inside? I already have the wiring up to the clip on the door jam. I need to know what I need from the dash portion of the wiring.

Anyone who has a link to a wire diagram would be a savoir right now, because I will need one eventually. I want to custom mount the switches away from the doors, so I will be seperating the wiring and re-looming it.

Thanks for your help

Dude, could you possibly write a how-to on that? I know there's been a couple of threads about this directed at you because it seems you're the only one that seems to know how to do it, but I don't know if you've seen them or not...

Personally, I'm dying to do this mod, and I know there's several others on the board that are interested...

Re: Power window Question....

i have done that mod in my crx and this how to do it:
you need 2 of the power window motor and 2 switches ,4 4" wires (2 for each door) also you need 2 3" wire for power and ground.for wiring it goes like this:from the power window motor run 2 wires for each door to were ever want place ur switches ,the two 3" should also go to the switches
As the switches i used the one from civic and you need the 2 red wires need be connected to two wire the power window motor they're the same color
if one your motors got 4 wires just cut the black and blue wire .the yel/green strip wire and other need to be connected together and connected to the wire that is +12 as for yel/w black is the negative one .you just have 2 do the samefor other switch except your wires are green instead of yellow .After that wire the yel and yel/grn wire from one switch to the grn and grn/yel strip together that should 4 wires .to these you connect the +12 power.and take the grn/black strip and yel /blk to negative wire ,and you done.

My final say on power windows, they are a bit of a hassle ive had them stop working a few times because the bolts come loose inside, ive had them come off track a few times and roll up funky, its really for the prissy haha too much headache

Re: Power window Question....

I have power windows and love them. I mean who needs another distraction when driving down the road, instead of reaching and rolling the windows down, u just simply press a button. One time about a year ago my driver side window wouldn't roll down but then 5 minutes later it worked, and ever since its been all good.

Re: Power window Question....

hey guys, i MIGHT be able to get a set of CRX motors and switches etc all the stuff you need for a conversion if you listed it, i know of about 4 crx's breaking all with power windows, im not sure how heavy all the stuff would be though and if it would be worth the hassle of shipping costs etc, just a thought though .......

Re: Power window Question....

The switches would be, but not so much the motors. The 4d motors work with modification, and im pretty sure the JDM (im assuming same as EDM) need the same modification.
