2006 chevy truck hard shifting Manual trans

2006 chevy 4.3 v6 5 speed manual trans . Very hard to shift into and out of gear , the truck has about 80,000 miles on it , its had the new trans fluid gm replaced for smoother shifting . If you hold the clutch pedal down on the floor hard it works fine . It all most like the pedal it screwed up . The pedal ass is plastic junk , Iam thinkig the pedal is bended , The clutch does not slip and I tryed bleeding the clutch master cylinder and there are no leaks anywere ! Any ideals would be great !!!!

If I'm understanding correctly, you visited a dealer to have the transmission serviced and afterwards noticed a difference in shifting? Are you planning on getting this looked into at a dealership? If so, I'm available to assist in whatever way I can .

I am having the same problem. I have a 2006 Silverado with 4.8 V8 with 50K miles. I have an extended GM warranty as well. I had the dealer change the trans fluid and clutch fluid. Still the same.

Sarah, can you help with this? Thanks.

do you really want help from the dealership with a vehicle this old ?

most likely you need a new clutch and slave cylinder. find a local recommended transmission shop to replace these parts/inspect for wear.

make sure they use the correct manual transmission oil.

Quaker State® Synchromesh is a manual transmission fluid specially formulated for General Motors manual transaxles and transmissions requiring GM Part No. 12345349 or 12345577

Re: 2006 chevy truck hard shifting Manual trans

I have a 2006 Chevy 4.3 with 5 speed manual trans. Just like everyone else I have been having nothing but issues with the clutch. At 11,000 miles a new trans mission was put in. At 18,000 miles the clutch pedal was ajdusted, now at 30,000 miles I am told I need a new clutch. Does anyone really know what the cause of the hard shifting and why the pedal needs to go all the way down to the floor to get the clutch to disengage? It is a really nice truck otherwise. Seems like its a GM defect somewhere in the design.

replacing the tranny on a manual I hope they replaced the clutch/slave and the throw out bearing. pedal to floor to get it to shift would be worn clutch parts. also make sure they /you use the proper GM manual transmission fluid not dexron III/mercon fluid.

I had the 94 S10 manual 5 speed and they used the wrong tranny fluid. hard shifting. also If it is a new new tranny , the fluid should be replaced / drain plug magnets cleaned .
