98 malibu wheel n front drive ruff

i jack the front up . the drivers wheel shake side to side a little. i change the hub, the outer tie rod end . n still the same thing. what could be wrong . the wheel sounds like it going to fall off

Look at the lower ball joint when you shake it. Thats probably where the play is.

If the lower ball joint is not moving a likely culprit is the wheel bearing. Hope this helps!

When I was changing the hub and the tie rod end I've notice that the boot on the ball was dry rotted and looks kinda ruff. I really didn't pay it any mind at first but I'm thinking you hit it right on the nose. Lol feeling kinda like a rookie for someone that been working on this car since 98 lol. A $17 fix, today I will install one. Thanks for the help and I will update

Was it the 12/6 o'clock position that moved, or the 9/3, or both?

If you changed the hub/bearing assembly and the outer tie rod, and the BJ is ok, then it is probably the inner tie rod...if the inner tie rod is ok, then check the bushings to the lower control arm....
