new IMG, still hissing

Hi guys.

Yesterday i replaced both upper and lower intake manifold gaskets to fix idle issues and the loud hissing and sucking noise coming the passenger side of the motor. This is 2nd replacement in under 20k miles.

To my frustration, the motor runs slightly smoother, and will idle, but there is still a distinct hissing sucking noise coming from the same side. I pushed down on one of the injectors and the noise changed slightly. I noticed during the job that the o-rings on the injectors were trashed, so i replaced them with some spares i had in a generic o-ring kit from my garage.

Now, i'm looking online at replacing the o-rings with the proper fit, in an attempt to cure the problem. Is there one o-ring per injector or two? Does anybody know the correct part #'s and where to get them from online? Also, is there anything else i'm overlooking? How often do people get a cracked intake manifold on these motors?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Neil

Two o-rings per injector. The upper o-ring seals in the fuel, the lower o-ring seals in the vacuum. A cracked intake is unlikely. I would grab a set of the proper o-rings and get to work replacing them.

Are the upper and lower o-rings the same size and diameter? Looking at rock auto, and it does not really specify whether buying 1, comes as a pair, or whether you have to order 12 instead of 6. Any ideas?
