new starter, new batt, new cables, still starting prob.(clicks)
i have 86 rebuilt 22re, has anyone heard of the starter not connecting all the way. sometimes if i move the truck and let off the clutch (like to clutch start), the starter will engage and it will fire right up. i have heard the starter spin a sec after the motor starts. are there shims i can install or am i missing something. thanks

Welcome to the AF!
I bet your starter is rebuilt and has old or poorly made contacts. Replace the contacts in the starter solenoid and see if that solves your problem.
