Mercedes Benz CLK DTM 2000.

Outdoor pics coming tomorrow.
I can honestly say this is by far the best work I've done. Was a lovely kit to build and is gorgeous. The pics don't really do it justice! Some of the pics are from my phone (smaller pics because lower resolution) so the quality isn't good but I hope you get an idea. Comments and criticisms appreciated!

As said, I'll have outdoor pics tomorrow so you can see it in natural lighting.
Thanks for looking!
-Tomo

You did a good job on it. Although the pigment on the silver paint is a little out of scale (too big). Tamiya TS spray paints work a lot better.

Re: Mercedes Benz CLK DTM 2000.

Unfortunately, the nearest place to me that sells Tamiya spray paints is over a hundred miles away. :/ I used car spray paint because it's all I can get.
But thanks for advice, any metallics will be done with Tamiya paint when I get down to that model store!

Re: Mercedes Benz CLK DTM 2000.

I've used metallic auto paint before...really just test paint something first because you never know how big the flakes or particles are. But who knows, maybe you intended it to be silver metalflake

I agree on this one. The model looks fine, but the bodycolor doesn't do it justice. It looks also a bit dull. Maybe you can also fill the panellines. this wil give a whole other impression.

Agree with "ketje".
Anyway, I agree with you, it looks like your best model so far. Interior detailing is really a step up from you!

Re: Mercedes Benz CLK DTM 2000.

Thanks for the compliments and (constructive) criticism
I had planned this from the start to be basically a demo car. I didn't want a big fancy race scheme, I wanted it to be factory fresh. It does have a couple of decals now (Castrol, and AMG plus the badges on the back) to liven it up slightly but I really didn't want it to be fancy. I wanted it to be factory fresh and ready for a private team to purchase. And if you ask me, Mercedes race cars must be silver. :P Except the 190 Evo II, of course.
Thanks for looking and commenting!
