changed my head gaskets
I changed my head gaskets in my 2000 Venture. Took a weekend to take them out. Took my time and labeled everything and ALOT of pics. I bought the best Fel Pro head gasket kit. I put it back together the next weekend. Had some help from a friend. Most of the time. It was a pain but I wouldn't hesitate doing another one. Had it almost all back together and found I had the heater hose from the rear climate control pump up out of the way. Well I had to take the throttle body and coil pack back off. To put the hose down on the side by the thermostat.
Had the heads done at a machine shop. Cost $225.00 I replaced the water pump with an ac delco, plugs, lifetime wires, everything you should. O rings and whatever else. Think the plugs were original the wires I think someone changed. Should get better gas mileage. Started it up. Took it for a test drive and on the way back that's when HE*L broke loose!! ![]() I FORGOT TO SHUT THE HOOD!! AHHHHHHHHH Here's some pics. I took over 100 pics when I did this job. |

Re: changed my head gaskets
It did.... BUT I had full coverage and the insurance company sent me a check for almost $1800.00. I bought a used (mint) hood same color. And had the windshield replaced. Pocketed about $1300.00.

Re: changed my head gaskets
If it's the front left motor mount that is on top. There's only 2 bolts that hold it in. Take a pic and post it because I'm really not sure what you are talking about. The motor mount I'm thinking of is easy to take off.
