Have they got to be made of metal?
If not just use some thin braided cord, buy it from haberdashery stores. gpz900ra7.

Pro Tech probably makes the best braided hose.
For machined aluminum fittings I've had good results with Pro Tech and RB Motion.

I've found Pro Tech braided line to be the best to work with. A quick and easy way to blacken it is with a Sharpie permanent marker
