Have they got to be made of metal?
If not just use some thin braided cord, buy it from haberdashery stores. gpz900ra7.

Go to Protech.... Get their braided line and paint the lines with Acryl Flat or Semi gloss black.....

I've found Pro Tech braided line to be the best to work with. A quick and easy way to blacken it is with a Sharpie permanent marker
