Question cr 250

alright hows it going new to this forum .
lastnight i picked up a used and abussed cr250 2003 or so i was told .
got it home and started stripping it and noticed there was gapher tape on the frame ,pull it off to find grooves in the frame is this normal ? better to put tape on again ?also how do i go about finding the frame/engine numbers /age of bike ?is it just like the hondas and the tenth digit in ?

Nice surprise about this shorter form. Can you tell us what it is you are talking/writing about? Has any info. about this shorter form been posted before (and i just missed it)?
