Looking for detail parts for a Tyrrell P34

I all,

I'm in the beginning stage of building a Tyrrell P34 (Tamiya), it's the '77 Monaco version (blue and White). Not being a regular F1 modeler, I'm a bit at a lost looking for detail parts so far I found some rain tires and a PE set from studio 27, anything else I found seems to be out of stock.

I'd really like to do some thing a bit different so I'm leaning on the rain tires but is it correct to put them on the model I got? From what I read, they use 2 different cowling style that season but I don't know why... Would be a shame to put rain tires on that version if they never use it in the rain.

Also, where should I look to find more detail parts for my F1 model?

Thanks a lot
René

It wasn't a rainy event, weather was dry all along the race... so adding rainy tires...?!

Right! Other wise, tamiya would have include rain tire...

BUT, knowing that F1 racing is not like rally racing where marking and decoration change every event, I was thinking of doing another event car and then put rain tire on it... I guess I still have some research to do...

And I'm still searching for details parts...

Rain tires would work just fine on this car. Two races that I know of with this body trim. Monaco and Zolder. I hope you are using my tires

Ooooh!!!!

Exactly what I was looking for...

But in RallyMaster link, it's said that the race was dry in Monaco, did they use rain tires only for qualification?

And yes, I was planning on using your tires if I go that way, only one question, do they come with GoodYear decals or some sort of marking or I would have to paint raised letter as i would have to with the Tamiya?

Thanks
Rene

I'm not a F1 specialist and don't have enough books of the subject to find informations about qualifying weather...
But according to the pics above there was rain falling during the weekend...!

Well, judging by the number of people in the stands of the last picture I would say that it must have been raining during practic or qualifying. I think for the race even if it was raining the grand stand would be full. I don't know about the first picture though, it is from Zolder Begium the next race after Monaco.

As for Goodyear markings, yes they come with a complete set of decals. There are some modifications needed on the kit wheels for these tires to work though. You can check out everything if you like on my website. You will also find scans of the instructions so you can see what is involved before you decide to buy.

Re: Looking for detail parts for a Tyrrell P34

Just received some stuff from http://www.macsmodeling.com/...

First, some rain tires, those are the one's from Icon_Modeler. Apart from some small pin holes on the inside side wall (easilly solved), those are fantastic rain tires and I just can't wait to to paint and mount them to see the finish product...

I also received some details parts or the engine in the like of:
Scale spark plug wires
Air funnel mesh covers
Air funnel and distributor
All of that being really nice parts too...

Now, if only I can receive my other order so I can do a real start on this project....
