2.4 thermostat change question

is it possible to change the thermostat on a 2.4 without removing the exhaust manifold?

Yes, I use a long quarter inch extension from above for the two bolts......then there is just the stud on the oil pan that holds the cooling pipe in place.......messy job, have a pan ready.....

I got it done just that way. Boy, it's tight getting the thermostat in and out. But possible!!
