bcm wiring diagram

I own a 2004 grand am se four door. I have been trying to hook up a car starter the last few days and have the domelight supervisor wire hooked up to the rear door switch. now i can only start my car with the remote starter if i open and close the rear door. I know the wire i should be connecting to is at the body control module. just dont know witch plug or pin.

Nobody wire at the BCM!

Remove the radio, get access to the ignition key wires (might have to break some plastic on the side).

You can also maybe look at bulldog security for some wiring diagram.

They are a big car alarm manufacturer, which also have remote start capability. It is a good idea to look because if you do not wire correctly you can get costly damage!

For example, on the 2002, there is 2 ignition wires. If you connect only one you can damage the transmission !!!!

Do not forget the passlock bypass module.

Do not forget to test all safety mesure once you're done, like start the car with the remote, then press the brake pedal. the engine MUST stop! When the engine is off, put in gear and try to start with the remote, it should NOT even try to start. Normally you should also have an hood switch. The car should not start with the remote if the hood is open, and should shutdown if you open the hood.

Remember, safety first!

Do NOT forget to SOLDER the wires, do NOT use quick connect or worse.. skin and twist... Use plently of electrical tape of good quality.

yeah i had that website already but it says to wire at the bcm to the white wire in the pink plug for the dome supervision. I can't even find a white wire there. This is the only wire I'm having trouble with. I tried wiring to the switch on the rear door, but i have to open and close the back door to start my car with the starter. Also i dont think my passlock bypass module is programmed properly because the car starts then shuts off

yeah your passlock bypass isn't programmed right. A confirmation would possibly be that the security light start to flash.

As for the BCM, are you looking at the right module? Passenger side? if you look on the driver side it's the PCM there...

No, I'm on the passenger side at the bcm. I just think the color code is most likely for a 2003 and older. I've tried everywhere to find a repair manual for a 2004 and you can't get one. they only go to 2003.

Or go to ANY GM dealer, and they can print it out for you....toss them a few bucks for looking it up and printing it for you....
