ignition cylinder

Can the ignition cylinder on a 2001 Silverado be change out without pulling the steering wheel. Someone broke in my truck and broke off the face of the ignition, it still work but I want to replace the cylinder and if so do the new key need to be reprogram.

No on functional type switch.
They are a piece of cake to do.

Yes on non functional type switch.
They are a bear cat to do.

I would call a auto lock smith for this.
