Random multiple misc. cyl. misfire
I have a 96' 1500ec with 5.7L and auto trans. I have been fighting an ongoing code of multiple misc. cyl. misfire. I noticed a hesitation only when I start out in first gear, once it shifts or if I start out in second it's smooth. If anyboby can lend a hand with either problem, it would be greatly appreciated. P.S., I have 138,000 on the odometer.P.S.S.- Code-0300 with the mmcm , how about timing, distributer or stretched timing chain? Again any help would be appreciated.

Re: First gear hesitation
Check fuel pressure first then do a full scan, pay attention to o2 readings also.

multiple misc.cylinder misfire
I'm replying to my own thread. All the hesitation and multiple misc.cyl.missfire codes appear to have been from oxidation on the distributer cap contacts and rotor.I took a wire brush attachment for my dremel tool and cleaned the posts and rotor contact and now engine runs great and have yet to recieve any codes. Hope this might be helpful to anyone with similar problems.P.S., I have ordered a new Delco cap and rotor.
