2001 Caravan 3.3l oil leak

I found an oil leak coming from the flywheel dust cover. Pulled the cover and oil was coming from oilpan/rear main area near the flywheel. I replaced the oilpan gasket and have the same leak. Van has 165K on it. My local shop said they didn't want to replace the rear main seal only do to seeing rear main bearing wear issues. I have no noise or oil pressure problems. I haven't seen this complaint in the forums. Anyone heard of or seen this problem??
