Transmission issues Help Please!!

can anyone tell me on my 1995 chevy s10 4.3, was driving it and was in 5th gear....we then shifted out to start slowing down and it stayed in gear. The shifter itself comes out of gear however when i release the clutch it still wants to take off. is this a clutch or pressure plate issue or is the trans just screwed? It will shift into any gear when i press the clutch in but still wants to take off in the gear its stuck in. any help is appreciated! Thanks

Remove shift lever and check and see if the plastic button has come off the end of it.
If so replace it.
While you have the shift stick top off see if youcan take a big screwdriver and shift it with it.
You should have 3 slots in the shift rods.
First line the up with each other and it should be in neutral.
Then move one at a time to see if it is shfting in all gears.

Post back what you find and how it goes how it goes.
