2000 Mercedes Benz CLK DTM
I decided to start this model with a week before I leave for the NAVY and to my surprise I was able to complete it, despite the massive amount of decals that was involved.
![]() This is the first time I have ever used photo etch parts or carbon fiber decals. I can now give a three day lecture about decal with everything I have learned doing this. Enjoy ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: 2000 Mercedes Benz CLK DTM
Very sharp looking!
How did you decide what to carbon fiber? Did you use a templated set? I'm working on this kit currently, or I should say I'm taking a vacation from this kit after applying all those decals on the body! By the way, those little strips of cf around the windows make me question your sanity. |

Re: 2000 Mercedes Benz CLK DTM
As far as what I decideed to CF, I went with just about everything labeled X-18.
I used this as a guide and did a few things differently from here to there. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=608409 The CF is much easier to apply than originally thought, I would use a sharp #11 to trim the excess away. |
