How to disable Onstar

Because Onstar is selling it's collected data on so equipped vehicles I would like to disable it in my '05 Silverado. Where can I find the unit?

The VCIM is located behind the passenger side airbag in the dash.

thats not all ...if big brother wants to know where you have been NO PROBLEM ! same thing with the cell phone unless you disable it.

I have my cell phone set to E911 GPS only...but that probably doesn't mean anything. During hurricane IKE I was stopped by a large tree which had blown across the country road I was on. I turned around and headed back and called 911 and explained there the tree was down blocking both lanes and the dispatcher wanted to know why I was headed away from where I said the tree was. Duh!
