tranny question re: Laredo and Grand

Will the automatic transmission out of a 1995 Grand Cherokee fit into a 1995 Laredo Cherokee. I have ZERO experience in regards to transmission compatability. Both Jeeps are 1995, they both are 4x4, both have automatic transmissions and V8 engines. I don't know if the engine displacement is the same or different. I dont know if any of these 2 jeeps have 'push button' 4x4 or if the 4x4 is enguaged with a lever, but would that matter if the 4x4 is electronic or manual considering the x-fer case is what operates the 4x4.

I am not an idiot by no means when it comes to working on cars or trucks...it's just that I never got too deep into the whole 'Jeep' lifestyle...YES I did say lifestyle. Love watching that Rubicon stuff though.

Re: tranny question re: Laredo and Grand

If the Laredo Cherokee is an XJ, then it is not a V8 and the tranny won't fit.
