College student cars

What cars do college students in the US have?
What I mean is:
-How much do students at good universities (UC Berkeley, MIT, etc.) spend on their cars?
-Do most have a car?
-Used or New?

Re: College student cars

Most of the students will not have a car. Some will have a bike depending on the campus and housing.

The minority that have a car will be a used car.

First you have to get into a top university and if you do get in you will be so busy you won't miss a car for most of the week.
