College Student Car

I need some opinions. If you are a college bound student looking for a sporty car that has a blend of comfort and performane; and it is roomy enough to sit at least 3 ppl along with good fuel economy. Oh and it will be great if its fun to mod with and not too eye catching to avoid unwanted attention! Also, it has to be reliable because I will not be having that much money to repair it all the time! Budget is cap at 20k, but i want to get one thats as cheap as possible. The car probably cant be too old because my parents hate used old cars therefore i probably wont be able to get them. 2000+ is sorta fine. Ohh and the most important thing, i'd much prefer rwd/awd over fwd. So what do you think guys!

Re: College Student Car

Nissan Altima

Its 4 doors, with plenty of room for friends.
It looks nice, and is not too ricer/"wanna race me" looking.
A new 2.5L can be bought for $20k.
A very slightly used 3.5L with 250hp can be bought for $20k or less.
There are also a fair amount of aftermarket parts for it.

It is however FWD, something you said you do not want. But, check it out, FWD are better in the snow then RWD anyways (I can't think of any subtle looking AWD in your range).
