Loss of oil presure

I have a 1997 Pontiac Transport 3.4l i was traveling down the road when suddenly my oil light came on and it started clattering so i pulled over and checked the oil and it was fine so i decided to change the oil useing a higher grade oil and lucas oil treatment and that didn't work so any suggestions...anyone
