4l60e rebuild
I rebuilding my 4l60e and after putting forward clutches, apply ring, and snap ring back in drum I have little to no clearance. Can I take out the wavy ring to give me the clearance I need? How would removing this affect my transmission?

Re: 4l60e rebuild
there is different thickness of frictions ,,,depending on the year,,,,you can replace the wavy plate with a thin flat,,,those also are different thicknesses,,,does not require a lot of clearance.....assemble drum compress clutch pack with compressed air ,,,,re-check.... as long as it will turn,,,should be ok,,,,can be on the tight side due the fact clutch is on 99% of the time

Re: 4l60e rebuild
you can probably leave it out ,,if your kit came with steels,,,would prefer to use an old one to replace it...just depends what the clearance ends up to be....I prefer the pack-up to be on the tight side....the only time the clutch is inactive is in reverse
