how to finish my exhaust
i have put cherry bombs on my truck they are welded on. now that i am ready to finish it i am wondering if it might be better and easier for me to clamp the rest. but how welll do clamps work
how much do they cost? what kind are best? or would it just be better to weld it?? i only have to finish both pipes out like 3 feet at most so it isnt very far that it has to go |

Re: how to finish my exhaust
Mine were clamped. They worked fine. They are less than 5 bucks a piece at the parts store. I'm pretty sure a muffler clamp is a muffler clamp, nothing high tech there.

ok also i had an idea when i start school again i will have access to the shop again and i had a great idea. there is a big bender and the school its just a metal bender not like a pipe bender but i was wondering why i couldnt fill the pipe full of sand and bend it withe the bender still??? i know you can fill the pipe full of sand and us heat and bend it but why couldnt you do that with the bender???

Re: how to finish my exhaust
Would it not smash it? You will need something inside it to hold it's shape. Do they not have a tubing bender?

Re: how to finish my exhaust
nope we do not have a pipe bender that can bend that big of pipe but i guess if i really wanted to i could probably just use the torch and sand

Re: how to finish my exhaust
Ok. I suppose I don't know what you mean by using a torch and sand. I would think if you fill the tubing with sand and heat it up, it will hold its shape and not bend all that easily. I would think either way you bend it you are not going to get a smooth even bend, thus causing restrictions.
