2000 Suburban making clunking noise

I have a 2000 Suburban with 170k miles on it. When I shift from park to reverse I get a noticable clunk...any ideas would be helpful.

Could be driveshaft U-joints. Try getting up to a nice cruising speed of about 40-50; let the sub coast, then tap the throttle just enough to put torque on the driveshaft. If it clunks on the power gain it's most likely sloppy joints. Usually an easy, cheap fix.

Or...crawl underneath and grab the shaft, twisting it back and forth. If the joints have any play or make any clunkimn noise with just you hands it's about 100% they are shot.
