Rear Trunk hatch won't open
My rear hatch on my 2003 GTI 1.8T will not open. You can hear the electronic lock unlock (when i press the remote & in car button) but when you pull the handle nothing happens.
feels like the handle is doing nothing like it broke....How do i get it open to fix the latch/handle?? Because the screws to take off the interior of the latch is covered up when it is closed. I'm lost to what to do to get it open???? please help

It sounds like the linkage to the door handle has fallen off.
Does the rear seat fold down?

It finally opened again then i riped the covers off on the inside and it was the lever/linkage that was sticking random this preventing the door to unlatch i greased it up and it's been working ever since. I also found a tiny leak in the seal of the back window on the hatch right below the wiper so it was dripping insode the door and causing the latch to cease. So i black caulked it and it's all go.
