The rear door won't open from the door handle. When i pull the door handle the thing won't open. There's still tension on the handle so it couldn't have broke. I think it got jammed with the wire cored that holds the hatch door down.. Is there any way i can pop it open from the inside?? The glass part that goes up is fine..its the door..

Re: 95 rear door hatch won't open..
Same thing happened to our 1999 Passport where someone either tried to open it and instead left something inside the key slot and broke it and now we can't open it with a key.
We now have to open the front door and then push the button to unlock all doors and then we can open the rear door. |

Re: Re: 95 rear door hatch won't open..
I had the same problem with my 96 Rodeo when I got it except the glass wouldnt open either. When I took the door apart the bars that go across to the sides werent pulling all the way. So what I did was spray the joints with some cleaner and bent the bars a little to make them shorter. After that it opened fine and it's been working perfect ever since.
