Figure this one out!!!!

I some how managed to burn a wire in my 99 cougar. I have traced it back to the right side of my engine (where the socket wrench in the pictures is currently fixed) and running up to between the battery and air filter, where it had been severed. I cannot find another burnt end that it could have been attached to leading me to not know what this wire is for. If anyone can tell by the pictures which wire (which is no longer there) is missing that would be very help in replacing it. Also, if you happen to notice another black wire in the picture that is not attached to anything, I have no idea what that would go to either if you have any thoughts.
