That is really nice, I like the styling.

I will have to take a look around to see what I can find on it.

I love it except for the hideous window line. The window coming so far down the door ruins the whole car... I don't think it is a worthy comparison to the Elise.

if this is a cheap car (below or around 30 US $) then that would be a beautiful thing....

Just realized there was a mini-article on this car in last month's Car and Driver. It s powered by a Nissan 2.0 litre engine connected to a six speed manual tranny. Autobacs actually gort some help from Lotus tuning this car. It will be run in the 24 hours of LeMans. No price is mentioned here. I still say that window ruins it.

I've read that this car will be featured in Gran Turismo 4, so you can "own" it and drive it then. I live in Japan, so next time I'm in Autobacs I'll try and get more info if anyone is interested, although it looks like there's enough info in the post above.

Re: Autobacs Garaiya

Dragging up an old post... cause I am buying one!

Plan is to remove the SR20VE engine and fit my spare SR20VET engine, a HKS GT3037S Pro Turbo and tuned to make 800Hp@crankshaft.

They are fantastic inside, the side window makes looking ahead for corners much easier:

Anyway, as there is no specific forum for these cars, I will try to keep this particualr thread updated.

PS: They are soooo damn cheap it is not funny.

Re: Autobacs Garaiya

I actually bought a midly damaged one in Japan for AUS$<6000 but they are selling for under 200,000Yen(about AUS$20,000 or US$16,000) in good condition

Hope to build my own chassis similiar to the factory car. Then transfer everything from the windscreen to tail lights onto my chassis, using a Nissan S15 Silvia front end and FD RX7 tail lights.

My car will arrive in Australia in 6 weeks from Japan, it is very exciting
