Autobacs Garaiya comming to USA?
Does anyone know if the ASL Garaiya is comming to USA? I can't read Japanese. There already is an Autobacs store in the US, but I don't know if Garaiya is comming or not, or if there are plans to introduce Garaiya.

There hasn't been any word that they will or have even considered it. Basically, it wouldn't be worth it to them. There is no demand for them and they are making limited production runs anyways. (only 100 in the first year!)

Re: Autobacs Garaiya comming to USA?
I would seriously consider buying one if it came to the US. I think there is demand for it here. C&D said that the Garaiya is one of the most wanted sports cars in America, and Autobacs is already starting to set up shops in the US. So hopefully they will bring Garaiyas here. =)

There is a demand in the US, but not a realistic one. ei. the people willing to fork out the money to get it. They aren't producing any LHD versions, one of their requirements for it to be factory sold. As of now, it's only racing in the JGTC, which hasn't really drawn interest for the other parts of the world (in respect to being popularly viewed). Just ask people who are interested in racing in the US and Europe about what they think of the JGTC and most of the people you meet give you that confused look.
When you ask someone about a super car, you still get the standard Ferrari, Lambo, McLaren, etc. And occasionally now the GTR. A very small section of people in the US have even heard of the Garaiya, let alone have the means to afford it.

Here's an update, apparently Autobacs scrapped their plans to produce 100 in the first year. They now plan to produce 10 this year (2004) and the price will be (in USD) roughly $55,000. Although that figure's higher now since the dollar is doing so bad!
With such a very limited production, it's very doubtful to be sold by Autobacs in the US.
