could be many things. one item that does it is a bad alternator diode...

when you shut down the vehicle remove the alternator wire... disconnect the battery first... then after the alt wire is removed and taped reconnect the battery ..see if the problem is still there...

another method would be to shut down the vehicle, remove the negative battery wire and then place an ampmeter in series with the battery neg connection and the battery negative wire..if you see a current flow of more than 100ma start removing fuses until it stops..also this should be done with the alternator output wire removed to see if that is drawing the battery current down..

Re: Battery keeps drainng

I had the same problem with my '96 burb...couldn't find anything wrong for weeks. Finally, when it was dark I noticed a little bit of light coming from the passenger side visor mirror. The lid was closed but ther little button wasn't fully depressed. After trying a bunch of "fixes" that didn't work I removed the bulb (actually crushed it trying to get it out of the holder).

You can use an Amp meter connected with the battery with the ignition key off, than isolate fuse's until no amps are being drawn.
