Muffler Rattle?
Hi,
I have a 2011 Impala with 10,000 miles on it. Recently, something started rattling from the undercarriage when going over bumps. It is a high pitch rattle like a trailer when it goes over bumps. I have taken it to two chevy dealers and they said that the muffler was damaged, that it hit something and was pushed out of place. It was also missing a clamp which they reinstalled. They recommended a new muffler and said all other suspension components were fine (which I am doubting since one of them missed the missing clamp in the first place). Question: Is there anything inside the muffler itself that could be causing the rattling? Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated. |

G'day, and welcome to AF. Do you remember hitting anything it? Perhaps a speed bump or big pot hole? It's quite possible if it was hit hard enough to move it out of place, it may have also dented it, which may have damaged one of the internal baffles, causing it to rattle.
