Hello
well now I am having like fog or steam like coming through center vents. seems i have air on run 25 miles then shut air off and notice this pouring out of vent. i put window down or turn air back on and it seems to increase. Temp outside has been humid , but today was in the 70's and air on Max low speed. Something i should be concerned about? or be breathing? air is cold no noises or smells thanks to all who may some input and help in this matter. I have a few more issues , but want to post one at a time as i fix thanks |

Re: 1997 grand prix fog or smoke like through vent of air condioning
I wouldn't be too concerned it isn't harmful. I would however check to make sure that the drain is open. It is located on the firewall just behind the engine. There may be an L shaped rubber hose over the opening. The condensation may be building up in the bottom of the duct work causing the problem especially if the drain is blocked.

Re: 1997 grand prix fog or smoke like through vent of air condioning
With the a/c set on max, it's recirculating the interior air rather than drawing in fresh outside air. This can cause a buildup of humidity which would cause this fog/mist. The fog/mist doesn't have a smell to it does it, either sharp/sour or sweet/maple syrup like ? Sour would indicate a freon leak from the evap core, sweet would indicate a coolant leak from the heater core.
