Revell ferrari 458 italia
Hi, very simple question that i know you experts can answer. I've bought this model for my boyfriend, I'm a girl and know nothing about making models! I need to buy paint etc for this, whats the best way to paint the model? By paint brush or airbrush? And is the 14ml of red enough for the body? thanks

Re: Revell ferrari 458 italia
since youre a first timer i would start with brushes since the upfront cost of airbrushing is in the triple digits unless you plan on making more models, if you can try finding a hobby shop that stocks spray paints and get the same color(or close) in aerosol its easier and would look better and cheaper than airbrushing.

Ok cool, thanks. If i cant find an aerosol would painting the body by brush look ok? I imagine it would look streaky and not very nice? Just wondering what else i need to buy him apart from the kit!

Re: Revell ferrari 458 italia
Just get a spray can for the body. Most hobby stores should have Tamiya sprays, which are perfect for this purpose, and one can is more than enough for one model. You may also want to buy couple of sprays of paint for large parts - like maybe tan for interior, and black for chassis and suspension components. These will look much nicer of you spray them instead of brush painting. Also, check out FAQs at the top - they have lots of info there!
