Revell Ferrari 458 Italia

Hi folks,
Haven't seen any revell's 458 at this forum...
Hope this will be a good reference for those who wanna buy Revell's 458

I can't really tell which kit is better; Revell Vs. Fujimi, since I don't have Fujimi's kit. As for Revell's 458,

Pros:
1. Excellent interior & engine detail
2. Openable engine cover
3. Good body proportion
4. Nice decals!

Cons:
1. Poor brake disk and caliper detail
2. Wheel looks a bit smaller
3. Awkward headlight shape
4. Chrome plated parts

Thank you!

Very nice build ! I like it.
I don't know if it is the final coat but color of wheels seems strange...?

DAMN, cj - that's clean enough for a surgical theater. Nice, nice work.

Only thing really bugs me about the kit is that the engine hatch and sideview mirrors are on the gray plastic trees, and sometimes that comes thru no matter how you seal and prime the part - your final color matches look really good in the photos; are you happy with them?

Well.. I tried to copy this color scheme...
I know the wheel color is a bit different from what I intended..but I don't plan to change it again..is it really that weird?

yeah.. I agree with you. that really bugged me too. I had to spray several layers of white primer on the parts to completely cover up the grey color.

Superb detail! Those lights look spot on too. Great work. Must have taken ages to wire them up?
I have on sitting on the desk ready to be built, looking forward to it.

Re: Revell Ferrari 458 Italia

Very nice build, great work with the lights !!
where are the PE you're using from ? is it a Transkit or self cut off parts in PE sheets ?
I also have this kit and am waiting for anyone to make a PE set at last for Revell and not only for Fujimi...

Great work on the lights there! Love how you not only made the main light but also all the little running lights, it looks fantastic in the dark. Will the rears get the same treatment?
