1988 monte carlo ss 383 stroker cam problems

changed cam in my car have set timing on cam 180 out and 180 in and still will only fire on cyl 6 not cyl 1 if you set it to cyl 1 it pops turn it 180 out and put it back on cyl 1 and it fires right up any help would be great

Either move the wires on the cap or pull and re-stab the distributor. It's not much more difficult than that. The cam cannot be 180° out.

Unless you have a non-standard cam grind, the order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, clockwise from the top. If you have a custom cam grind it might be 1-8-7-3-6-5-4-2.
