Electric Fan

*99 Bravada*
I am going to add a little 10 in. electric fan in front of the radiator for some extra cooling and I am trying to get a wire from inside at a switch to the engine area.
Has anyone ran wires in a bravada and what is the easiest route to get to the engine area?

Thanks

Re: Electric Fan

Do you do a lot of idling with the A/C on? If not what exactly is the point of the fan?

I actually do sit in traffic for about 30 minutes each way to and from work, plus with it being 90 - 100 this time of year it could not hurt to have a little more air flow.

I am looking to get a wire from inside thru the firewall to the engine compartment, has anyone found a simple way to run one?

Re: Electric Fan

I don't know of an auxiliary fan circuit on a Bravada.
I put all mine in neutral when sitting at a traffic light or stopped traffic during the warm months to keep the oil pressure on the right side of the gauge. It just happens to help the cooling system too.

Re: Electric Fan

Adding anything electrical will increase the load on your engine and reduce your gas mileage unless it replaces a mechanical load so I wouldn't recommend adding a fan. There are some electrical fan replacement kits for the Bravada available in the after market, and there was a do it your self replacement post about using a junkyard Taurus electric fan to replace it. Here's a couple of links on the subject.
