Ideas on a new ride?
So this will be my third car. I bought myself an 87 z28 when I turned 16, and it's ran pretty well with minimal required work. I ran into some problems a few months ago, and it turns out the intake is completely warped, and the carb is shot. I love the car, but to be honest its not in my best interest to put the money into a 30 year old engine. Id like to eventually drop atleast a 350 or possibly ls1 into it, but that requires a new transmission as well.
I also have been driving a scion tc (Bleh) family car until my little brother needs it which is approaching shortly. I'm 20 years old with basic car knowledge, and I'm looking for suggestions as to what car to buy next. It needs to be atleast FWD, although AWD would work as well since it will be driven in the winter. My camaro is a v8 and I'm really looking for something that will be pretty quick stock, as well as has a lot of options to be modified in the future for performance. Currently been looking into possibly an A4, Prelude, or maybe even an older lancer evo. I'd like to spend no more than $10k on a solid, reliable car to start off with. It NEEDS to be a manual car. I'm mostly looking for opinions, and other options |

Re: Ideas on a new ride?
Just a word of caution on the Prelude - they are sexy, but they are HEAVY cars. Not that they can't be worked with, but they were never super fast right out of the factory.
What about a used Subaru WRX? Civic Si? Neon SRT?

Re: Ideas on a new ride?
I reallly dont like the civics. They're all over and I'd really not like to have a "ricer". The wrx has always been a favorite but they seem to be a little more expensive for the body style I'd prefer. I'll look into the SRT's.
I've been reading a lot about the A4's. I can pick up a 1.8t for around 5-6k that is in pretty good shape then throw some money into a turbo/exhaust/ect |
