Re: transmission slipping into 2nd
Hi,
When was the last time it was serviced? If it hasn't 30k is the normal interval so changing the fluid and filter would be the first thing. NOTE you need to change the entire fluid. Not just a regular pan drop. Many users advise against flushing machines, the best DIY method is by disconnecting one of the lines from the radiator, start and idle the engine until pump starts to cavitate (flow becomes uneven), turn engine off and lower the pan; that way the amount of fluid will lessen preventing unnecessary spilling on the driveway. Oscar.

Re: transmission slipping into 2nd
Don't run it too long with no fluid.

Re: transmission slipping into 2nd
either i counted wrong before, or it has changed. it is now slipping from 2nd into 3rd. theres not really a delay in the shift as far as i can tell, but it is catching very abrubtly. deffinately too hard of a shift. anyway, my friend, who is an Audi mechanic, suggested trying "tranny no slip" which i assume is an additive for transmission fluid. does anyone have any experience with this product or know if it actually fixes problems, rather than hide their symptoms?
