Re: pontiac 1965 2+2 paint codes
thanx gtp dad.my pontiac paint code doesnt match none of the factory codes.it has a second id tag which is riveted under one of the original id tags rivet, which has only a paint color on it.is this a factory option.the color name is sahara mist which is not a pontiac color but a buick color.

Re: pontiac 1965 2+2 paint codes
Things were different in the automobile industry in the 1960's. Dealers often would special order vehicles for customers with special paint colors or options. The 2+2 was not a big production run and it is possible that it was a special order for a customer who wanted something special. I am sure you have heard of COPO Camero's that were produced in limited quantities. It is very possible that your car was a specialty order for a customer.
