fuel tank issue

A piece of exhaust debri went under my windstar and went through my fuel tank. I had it replaced but since am unable to just put the gas nozzle in the car and walk away. The fuel nozzle keeps clicking off. I have to hold the nozzle handle at the lowest possible flow to get it to fill, it takes about fifteen minutes to fill up.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what the shop did wrong as I didn't have this prob before the tank replacement?

Re: fuel tank issue

They may have pinched the evap vent hose on the tank top when reinstalling the fuel tank.

The EVAP hoses or cannister could also be filled and plugged with gasoline if you are the type that when filling up the tank and do not stop at the 1st pump click off. Overfilling the fuel neck to the top is bad for the evap system.

I would have them pull the tank back off and check that all the fuel tank hoses are clear and not pinched
